Oscar Pool – Multiplex 10

Welcome to the Multiplex 10 Cinemas!

As I mentioned earlier today, the Multiplex 10 animated short is NOW AVAILABLE on Vimeo On Demandand it’s getting ready to launch its film festival run very soon.

BUT that’s not the only Multiplex 10 news today. Here is the very first episode of Multiplex 10: the web series, a series of standalone vignettes featuring the Multiplex 10 Cinemas cast. These are set after the events of the short film, although you don’t need to have seen that to enjoy the web series.

If you enjoyed this webisode, you’ll love the animated short, and we hope to bring you more Multiplex 10 webisodes as fast as our hands and brains can make them. Learn more about supporting the Multiplex 10 web series!

Hey, kids! Multiplex 10 reaction GIFs!

Hello! Tangelene Bolton (our composer) and Ian (our sound designer) are plugging away at the sound and noises for the Multiplex 10 short. It’s looking like the short will be released to our amazing Kickstarter backers in late December, at this point — and then it will be a month or two more before it is released to the general public.

To tide you over (for a little while longer), here are a few Multiplex 10 reaction GIFs for you to snarkily share whenever someone says something about movies on the Internet.

Yeah, it sounds like a cinematic classic.

Is that good?

I love it

Oooookay

We’re 90% funded!!!

We’ve just passed 90% funding with SEVEN days to go, by Kickstarter’s clock, and so here is a comic to celebrate!

Just $1,500 to go before we can officially greenlight the pilot. But the more we raise, the better we can make the short and the more effectively we can distribute it, both of which improve our chances of getting a full series made down the road.

So please, continue to share the project with your friends and friends as we head into the last week of the funding period.

Thank you for your support!

Say hello to Kurt and Jason

Hello! The Multiplex 10 Kickstarter project ends in just over 14 days. As of this writing, we are a little north of $12,000, so just past 80% of our goal. Judging from my last two Kickstarters, we’re doing very well. The final week should pick up considerably over this past week.

BUT don’t forget that we still have a milestone goal of Jason reviewing every Harry Potter movie if we make that $15,000 baseline goal on/before Wednesday, April 26th, though! (Plus Fantastic Beasts if we make it on/before Monday, April 24th. But that seems kind of unlikely at this point.) I thought that was a fun premise… but it’s up to the Gods of Kickstarter now.

I also officially added our first (and, at this point, only) STRETCH GOAL. At $20,000, we’ll be able to do a few extra things:

  • Smoother, 4K animation
  • 5.1 Surround Sound mix (courtesy sound designer Ian Vargo)
  • AND… a theatrical premiere at the Somerville Theatre here in Somerville, MA. (All backers at the Special Thanks level and up will get free admission… and, of course, transportation is not provided.)

Thanks so much for all your support. I’m exciting at how the Kickstarter project is coming together, and I can’t wait to get started on the animated short. (Full time, I mean. I’m already working on it!)
